Halloween Costumes

I like to make Halloween costumes for the kids for three reasons:
1. I think they look cuter
2. They last longer (we use them as dress ups after Halloween)
3. I just plain enjoy making them

So this year was no different. They both wanted to be fairies from the Tinkerbell movie. We had one Tinkerbell and one Silvermist. Here are how the costumes turned out.

Blog Background

So I am getting the hang of this blog thing a little more. A couple of days ago I learned how to make my own blog backgrounds!!! I have been playing around with it and finally figured out how to make it work. You can check out my very own homemade background at Isaac's blog (click here). I am still tweaking it so it may change a little but at least I figured it out. I am so excited about it and once I really get the hang of it, I may try one on this blog.

Dear Isaac

My Sweet Isaac,
Last sunday marked one year since you left this life and returned to our Father in Heaven. I miss you so much. You would be 19 months old today, but you will always be a little baby to me.
A week or so ago, I was in Walmart and saw these cute little cowboy boots. They were just about the size you would be wearing now. I could just see you wearing them and Daddy's cowboy hat, following him around the ranch feeding the lambs and riding the horses. Daddy would teach everything and you would want to be just like him.
I love you sweet boy. I know that you are okay and free from the pains you endured here, but my heart still hurts for you. My arms hurt to hold you. I want to smell you. And even though it sounds gross, I want to change your colostomy bag. I miss everything about taking care of you.
A year ago today, we laid your body to rest. It was a numb day for me, but today I feel the sadness. It's been a year since I could see you in more than a picture and I long to see you again. I want to see your smile most. It could brighten any day.
I look forward to the day that I get to hold you again. Once I get the chance, I don't think I will ever put you down again. I love you. Watch over us. Help us to know you are near.
Love always,
Mommy

Pajamas

I finally got one on my many sewing projects done! I made some pajamas for my girls. They turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself. I was sad though because the polka dot and striped ones shrunk a lot! They no longer fit my kids so we passed them along to their cousins. Now on to the next project.

Walk For Healing Hearts

As many of you already know, we belong to a support group called Intermountain Healing Hearts. They have been in helping us through our journey with Isaac, during his life and in his passing. They hold an annual Walk For Healing Hearts. It is a fundraising walk and also helps to spread CHD Awareness. If any of you are able and willing participate, we would appreciate the support.
The walk will take place on Saturday, September 12 at Riverview Park in Provo. Please go to www.intermountainhealinghearts.org to register. Thanks.

Summer Is Here!

Well I finally got those pictures posted like I promised. I am so happy that summer is here. I am going to buy passes to the swimming pool for me and the kids. The pool is only a few blocks away so I can get some exercise walking there and a great tan while they swim! Its a win win situation. Plus I am very excited for the mommy and me (or we, however you say it with more than one kid), time. It will give us some good bonding time. I am also taking on a lot of sewing projects this summer. Probably too many, I'm already feeling a little overwhelmed. It doesn't help that some of them I've had the material since last fall, and one I have had the material for two years and just never got around too it. Now its catch up time. Its funny how much of being a mom and homemaker feels like you're always playing catch up. The cleaning, the laundry, the scrapbooks. I've been homeschooling preschool with my kids and now its summer and we still haven't finished the alphabet. Wow! Oh well it'll happen when I "get more organized". (ha ha ha). But really I've seen moms who get done with the laundry, the clean, the cooking, sew all the clothes, scrapbooks are caught up, run kids to soccer, ballet, and piano lessons, go grocery shopping, visit every neighbor who is in need, attend the PTA meeting, vote, and still look like they had six hours to get their hair done, a makeover, manicure and a brand new outfit. I really think they have some special switch to pause time. One day though, I'll figure it out.

Happy Birthday To ME!!!

Well my computer crashed so this is a little late, but last week was my birthday!!! Happy Birthday to ME!!! My sweet husband send me out with my cousin to get my hair done. Now I have never had my hair professionally cut before so this was a new experience and I absolutely LOVED it!!! I had my hair cut and highlighted (also something I have never had done before). It turned out so good. I am so happy with it. AND my hubby couldn't stop staring at me, which is always a plus. I will post some pictures when I have more time and my computer is back up and running.
